Esther E. Jungemann, age 82, of Huron, formerly of Wolsey, went to celebrate her eternal independence on Sunday July 4, 2010.

Her Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday July 8, 2010, at the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Wolsey, SD, with burial at the St. Johns Cemetery in rural Wolsey.

Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday night at the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Wolsey with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the church; or one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Esther Eva Haeder was born on April 29, 1928, to Richard and Emma (Hohm) Haeder. She grew up in Yale and Wolsey, South Dakota, graduating from Wolsey High School in 1946. In March of 1947, Esther married Marvin Larsen. To this union three children were born. She was widowed in October of 1951 when Mr. Larsen was killed in a plane crash. On November 29, 1953, Esther married Marvin Jungemann. Marvin and Esther farmed near Wolsey and raised eight children. In 1982, they retired to Wolsey where Esther served as Wolseys Finance officer for many years. After Marvins death in October of 1986, Esther remained active in the community and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and playing bridge.

Esther moved to the Courtyard in Huron in January of 2009 and enjoyed the friends she made there. She moved to the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home in March of 2010 where she lived until her death.

Esther was an active member of St. Johns Lutheran in Wolsey.

Esther is survived by her eight children: Don and Pam Larsen of Lake Orion, MI; Janet and Jim Goll of Ponca City, OK; Marvin and Vicki Larsen of Albuquerque, NM; Marilyn and Jim Uken of Phoenix, AZ; Carol and Phil Powell of Ponca City, OK; Mike and Margaret Jungemann of Watertown, SD; Russell and Janet Jungemann of Wolsey, SD; and Glenn Jungemann of Wolsey, SD; her precious grandchildren: Kelly Larsen of Augusta, GA, Alysia and Chad Kretschmar of Holly, MI, Crystal and Justin Smith of Lake Orion, MI, Lance and Tara Goll of Tulsa, OK, Evette, Tyler, Zachary Larsen of Albuquerque, NM, Kyle, Colin, and Mike Uken of Phoenix, AZ, Nicole and Cameron Carstensen of Almira, WA, Jefferson and Dylan Powell of Ponca City, OK, Nathan Jungemann of Watertown, SD, Chelsey and Justin Urbanski of Millford, NE, Lucas, Libby, Adam, and Emily Jungemann of Wolsey, SD, Jennifer Jungemann of Sioux Falls, SD, Jace and Kristy Jungemann of Mankato, MN, and Jon and Justin Jungemann of Wolsey, SD; 11 great-grandchildren; her brothers Paul Haeder of Lincoln, NE, and Robert Haeder of Huron, SD; sister Hilda Ulrich of Sioux Falls, SD; and many, many, nieces and nephews.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and her husbands.

Esther loved greatly and was greatly loved. She will be missed by many.
