Esther A. Chaplin, age 91, of Huron, died Friday, April 3, 2015 at the SunQuest Healthcare Center. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Welter Funeral Home with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday. Esther was born on April 17, 1923 in Hitchcock, SD to Joseph H. and Clara B. (Walton) Farmer. She married Charles Wright and later married Richard Chaplin on May 24, 1947 in Huron. Richard and Esther lived in the Bonilla-Hitchcock area until moving to Huron in January 1967. Over the years, Esther worked at Raven Industries, The Inn, and Kentucky Fried Chicken all in Huron. She enjoyed reading, word search, and puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with her family especially playing cards with her grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Charles "Joe" Wright of West Point, UT, Ronald (Karen) Chaplin of Huron; 2 daughters, Pat (Russ) Hotchkiss and Barb (Mike) Bauer, all of Huron; 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; 1 step-son, Donald (Diane) Herman of Watertown, SD; 1 brother, Kenneth Farmer of Georgia; and 1 sister-in-law, Betty Farmer of Aberdeen, SD; and many nieces and nephews. Esther was preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister, both in infancy; her two husbands, Charles and Richard, 1 son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Andre' Wright; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Donnie Zelenka; 1 daughter-in-law, Connie Wright; 2 brothers, Don and Louis Farmer; 1 sister, Jennie Younkin; and 1 sister-in-law, Janelle Farmer.
