Erma A. Harmon, age 82, of DeSmet and formerly of Pine City. MN, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in De Smet, SD.
Her Memorial Service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in De Smet, SD.
Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Erma Adeline Guse was born on June 20, 1927, to Gottlieb and Adeline (Storm) Guse in Forbes, North Dakota. She attended schools and graduated from High School. On November 14, 1946, Erma married Donald J. Harmon in Aberdeen, SD. Erma was a homemaker. She also worked at the Twin Cities Arsenal in St. Paul, MN, Plastech and Hillcrest Nursing Home in Rush City, MN, and sold Avon during their stay in Pine City, MN. Ermas husband, Donald, was a minister for the Assembly of God Church, and she travelled with him as he ministered at several churches in Minnesota and South Dakota during his career. Erma enjoyed gardening, baking pies, and spending time with her family and friends.
Grateful for having shared in Ermas life are her 3 sons, Thomas Harmon of De Smet, SD, Jerry (Adele) Harmon of Greeley, CO, and Paul (Debbie) Harmon of Marshall, AR; 2 daughters, Patricia Pugsley of Hugo, MN, and Carmin Smith of Las Vegas, NV; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Martin (Marlys) Guse of Minnesota, and Eddie (Connie) Guse of Washington; 2 sisters, Evelyn Easterby of Washington, and Marge(Allen) Moulton of Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald in 2002; great-grandson, Levi Nelson; and 2 brothers, LeRoy Guse and Albert Guse.
