Elvilda ?Vi? Mulford Stafford, age 88, of 1345 Michigan Ave SW, and formerly of 905 Frank Ave SE, Huron, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005, at the Huron Nursing Home. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 26, at Trinity United Methodist Church at Iroquois with Rev. Kris Larson officiating. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery at Iroquois. Friends may call this Friday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Saturday morning. The family will be present from 7:00 to 8:00 PM this Friday evening at the funeral home. Elvilda Jeanette Ericksen was born on December 2, 1916, to Martin and Hensina (Johanson) Ericksen at Sinai, SD. She moved with her parents to Huron where she attended school. She worked at Armour and Company, Fairmont Creamery, and Swifts. In 1934, Vi married Amos Stafford of Huron. They were later divorced. On April 12, 1938, Vi married Marion Mulford of Iroquois. They moved to Iroquois where she worked at the Iroquois Caf? for 15 years. Marion died in 1982. On June 8, 1998, Vi re-married Amos Stafford and they lived at Huron. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church at Iroquois. Her many interests included fishing, gardening, yard work, puzzles, and a great love for horses. She is survived by her husband, Amos of Huron; 4 daughters, Lila (Glen) Taylor of Huron, Joyce (Hurley) Phifer of Newnan, GA, Agnes (Frank) Gilchrist of Iroquois, and Bonnie (Ed) Morgan of Miller; 1 son, Darrell (Karen) Mulford of Farmington, MN; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her second husband, Marion Mulford; 5 brothers, Herbert, Ole, Ben, Pete, and Hank; 5 sisters, Mable Peterson, Annie Knudson, Tilla Quam, Gert Clem, and Ida Lindgren; 5 sisters-in-law, Pauline, Louise, Hazel, Cora, and Verna Ericksen; 5 brothers-in-law, Norman Petersen, Carl Knudson, Clayton Quam, William Lindgren; and ?Buster? Clem.
