Elsie Dora Love, age 93, of Huron, SD, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home in Huron. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday February 23, 2013, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, with burial at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Her visitation will be Friday, February 22, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron from 5-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m.; or one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Elsie Dora Melber, the daughter of George and Ursula (Lieske) Melber, was born on April 25, 1919, in Orient, SD. She attended school in Park Township and graduated from St. Lawrence High School. Elsie married Charles Benjamin Love on September 12, 1939, in Orange City, IA. The couple made their permanent home in Huron, SD. After nearly 60 years of marriage, Elsie lost her beloved husband, Charles, on February 20, 1999. Elsie was a homemaker and devoted her life to caring for her family and those she loved including her two sons, (Jim and Chuck), five grandsons (Greg, Todd, Scot, Troy and Jeff), and eight great-grandchildren. Elsie enjoyed coffee time with her many friends and playing bingo. Grateful For having shared in Elsie's life are her two sons, Jim Love of Huron, SD and Chuck (Donna) Love of Overland Park, KS; five grandsons: Todd (Holly) Love of Rapid City, SD, Scot Love and Jeff (Darci) Love both of Huron, SD, Greg (Amy) Love, of Kansas City, MO, and Troy (Kristen) Love, of Aurora, CO; eight great-grandchildren: Kelli, Kami, Josie, Tristan, Lucas, Miles, Jackson, and Paige; brother, George Melber of St. Lawrence, SD; two sisters, Eva Nissen of Miller, SD and Arlene Templeton of Rapid City, SD ; and several nieces and nephews. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles in 1999; daughter-in-law, Margo Love; brother, Lloyd Melber; and four sisters: Rosine Schwartz, Frieda Porter, Mary Estes, and Louise Reddix.
