Elmer W. Presuhn, age 98, of Virgil, passed away peacefully at Avantara Huron on Friday, September 04, 2020 in Huron, South Dakota. Per his wishes, a private burial will be held at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Elmer was born on October 24, 1921 to parents Charles and Ella Mae (Miller) Presuhn on the family farm in the Virgil area. He attended the Presuhn School through the 8 ^th grade and then worked on the Presuhn family farm.

Elmer married Betty Mae Aldrich on September 22, 1950 in Huron. They resided on the family farm near Virgil where they raised two sons and two daughters. Elmer and Betty moved to the Wellshire in 2019.

Elmer was a member of the Virgil United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Neighborly Get Together Card Club where neighbors would gather during the cold months and play Pitch.  Elmer enjoyed pheasant hunting, fishing, and reading books.  He also enjoyed playing Rummy, Solitare, and putting puzzles together with his wife Betty.  Elmer loved farming and his favorite place to be was on the family farm.

Grateful for having shared in Elmer's life are his two sons, Richard (LaJune) and Kent (Renee); two daughters, Lynette (Jeff) Kukla and Devonna (Marco) Medina; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (John) Clouser, Barb Aldrich, and Betty Presuhn.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; seven siblings; and one great-granddaughter.
