Ella Hanson, age 90, of Miller, formerly of Huron, died Monday, October 1, 2012 at Prairie Good Samaritan Center in Miller. Her funeral will be 2:30 pm Friday October 5, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church on Huron. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Thursday October 4, 2012 at Welter Funeral Home with family present from 6-8 pm and a 7 pm prayer service; or one hour prior to the service. Ella Hanson was born February 13, 1922 in Leola, SD to Christian and Christina (Lechner) Gutjahr. She received her education in Leola. On September 21, 1939, Ella married Edwin L. Jones; of this union two children were born. In 1948, the couple moved to Huron and Ella went to work for O.P. Skaggs Market for 37 years. On April 21, 1962, Ella married Siver Hanson in Huron. After their retirement, they wintered in Arizona. Ella loved bowling, dancing, cards, her grandkids, and great grandkids. Ella is survived by one son, Jerry (Sharalyn) Jones of Wessington; three stepchildren, Lonna (Dale) Lempke of Moorhead, MN, Jim (Mickey) Hanson of Denver, CO, Bernie Hanson of Huron; five grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Ella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Siver in 1985; a daughter, Carol Ann (Allen) Bell; 2 sisters, Violet(Lee) Crist and Alvina (Leonard) Albrecht.
