Eldon W. Anderson, age 92, of Hitchcock, passed away on Saturday, April 25th at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. His funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday at the Welter Funeral Home with burial at the Altoona Cemetery in Hitchcock. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm with the family present from 6-8 pm on Tuesday at the Welter Funeral Home; or 1 hour prior to the funeral service. Eldon was born on January 7, 1923 in Hitchcock to Iver E. and Vera E. (Voorhees) Anderson. Eldon attended McDaniel School through the 8th grade and graduated from Hitchcock Public School in 1940. He resided and farmed in Hitchcock his whole life. He is survived by one daughter, Gwen (Kurt) Effling of Artesian, SD; one son, James Anderson of Hitchcock; and 1 granddaughter Elizabeth (William) Vitetta of Sioux Falls. Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gary Anderson; one brother, Eugene Anderson; and one sister, Alieda Boomsma.
