Elby Royce Crandall of Rapid City and formerly of Forestburg, joined his heavenly father, after a brief illness on January 29, 2015. His funeral service will be at 10am on Saturday February 7, 2015 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday. He was born November 6, 1951 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and was raised on a farm by Forestburg, SD. He is survived by his wife, Connie K. Crandall; daughters Micki (Eric) Hanson, Stephanie (Monty) Long, Carrie (Marek) Kopec, and Rebecca (Brandon) Sanchez; his sister Verla (Tom) Jung, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. He is also survived by his biological mother Joan Janasak and half-sisters Evelyn (Dan) Hull and Ellie (Darcy) Orsten of Alberta, Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Helen Crandall, five of Connie's brothers Allen, Leonard, LeRoy, Vernon, and Arnie Schaffer and an infant son Eric Ryan Crandall.
