Eileen Jacobson, age 100, of Huron, SD, died Friday, September 25, 2009, at her home.

Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 18, from 5-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home with family present during that time and a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m.

Eileen Jacobson was born Eileen Mary Peacock, daughter of James W. and Elizabeth (Backer) Peacock, on August 11, 1909, in Armour, SD. She attended Armour schools and graduated from Armour High School in 1927. She then attended and graduated from beautician school in Sioux Falls.

On June 17, 1941, Eileen married Emil Jake Jacobson in Sioux Falls. The couple lived in Sioux Falls where Eileen worked as a beautician until moving to Huron in 1961.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, and the church circle which made rosaries. She also was a very accomplished artist.

She is survived by 1 sister, Catherine Fitzsimmons, of Denver, CO; 2 sisters-in-law, Maryline Peacock of Rapid City, and Mary Peacock of Sioux Falls; 10 nieces, Karen Wardell (goddaughter), Mary Lynn Hochhalter, Trudy Hochhalter, Kathleen Bruce, Maryline Deer, Connie Peacock, Dorothy Peacock, Myrna Peacock (goddaughter), Therese Hagan, and Cheri Woodside; 5 nephews, Jerry Peacock, Dean Hochhalter, Jim Peacock, Don Peacock, and Doug Peacock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emil on August 18, 1999; 3 brothers, Francis Peacock and his 2 wives, Esther and Mildred, Lloyd Peacock, and James Peacock; 2 sisters, Margaret (Rudy) Hochhalter, and Beverly (Gould) Allison; and 1 brother-in-law, Ronald Fitzsimmons.
