Edith Fahey, age 88, of 430 Utah Ave. SE, Huron, died Thursday, September 7, 2006, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 12, at the Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Brandsrud officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Monday afternoon and evening and Tuesday morning until time of service at the funeral home. Edith Fahey was born Edith Fay Campbell on July 18, 1918, the 5th of 14 children, to John and Alma (Karnopp) Campbell in Clark, SD. She attended country school near her home. On July 6, 1939, Edith married Bernard Fahey in Granite Falls, MN. They lived in Huron but traveled to many different locations throughout South Dakota while her husband worked at construction sites. Edith has lived at 430 Utah Ave. SE for the past 63 years where she operated her businesses: a doll repair hospital, and a daycare center from 1961 until 1998 where she cared for scores of local children. Her many interests included dolls, gardening, and canning. She is survived by 3 children, Patricia (Archie) French of Vidor, TX, Katharine Kit Mueller of Park City, UT, and Rodney Fahey of Huron; 4 grandchildren, Lisa (Mike) Bich of Huron, James Parkhurst of Vidor, TX, Michael French of Vidor, TX, and Lauren Mueller, of Salt Lake City, UT; 4 great grandchildren, Rachelle Schild, Cassandra Wels, Lacey Bich, and James Parkhurst, Jr.; 6 great great grandchildren; 3 brothers, John (Betty) Campbell of Huron, Delbert (Edna) Campbell of Riverside, CA, and Wayne (Jan) Campbell of Detroit Lakes, MN; 4 sisters, Gladys Petersen of Clark, SD, Pat (George) Stafford of Scottsdale, AZ, Florance Adams of Metairie, LA, and Lillian (Les) Williams of Little Rock Ark; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard on April 5, 1985, 6 siblings, Olive Stanley, Roy Campbell, Dolores Hartwig, Shirley Bentz, Helen Rogers, and Lucille Zugschwerdt; 2 brothers-in-law, Merle Petersen, and Don Adams.
