Dr. Duane P. Glanzer, age 75, of Wolsey, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. His funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 9-11 am on Wednesday at Welter Funeral home.

Dr. Duane Glanzer was born on August 2, 1943 to Bert and Mary Glanzer in Freeman, South Dakota. He graduated from Willow Lake High School and attended Northern College, he then graduated from Huron University. He received his Masters of Business from Oral Roberts University and his Doctorate in Business Administration from California Coast University in October 2002. Dr. Glanzer taught business at Sinte Gleska University in Mission, South Dakota.

Duane married Marlette Hofer on August 23, 1963. To this marriage, they were blessed with 6 girls and 2 boys; Tim, Lynn, Lisa, Paula, JoDee, Jay, Joy, and Mary.

Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife, Marlette of Wolsey; son Tim (Mary A.) Glanzer of Huron and their children David (Brittany) Glanzer of Hartford and their children Tate and Kynsley Glanzer, Nathan (Amanda) Glanzer of Carpenter and their children Caroline, Ellie, and Lily Glanzer, Eric (Ashley) Hiles of Wolsey and their children Alyssa, Hannah, Clayton and Haylee Hiles, Michael (Stacy) Hiles of Wolsey and their children Jordon and Layton, Brandy (Jeremy) Timm of Fort Lee, VA and their children Alexis, Grant and Millie Timm; daughter Lynn (Kully) Rawstern of Wolsey and their daughter, Megan; daughter Lisa (Leonard) Williams of Spring Hill, Kansas and their children Austin (Andrea), Dustin (fiancé Rebekah Land); daughter Paula Hintz (Scott Jackson) of Valentine, NE and her children and grandchild, David Collier, Tyler Collier and Ryker Collier; daughter JoDee (Shannon) Hoffer of Kansas City, MO and their children Erica and Sam Hoffer; son Jay (Penny) Glanzer of Smithville, MO and their children Emily (Joe) Mattli and Abby Glanzer; daughter Joy (Fred) Walter of Smithville, MO and their children Lexy (Larry) Schussler, and Cody Walter. His brothers-in-law Jerry (Marcelle) Hofer and Glen (Shelby) Hofer; Gordon (Ramona) Hofer; sister-in-law Mary Glanzer (Del's Mary); and his Aunt Viola Handwerk as well as many nieces and nephews.

Duane was preceded in death by his daughter Mary (Glanzer) Ghatri in 2017, his parents, his parents-in-law Clarence and Maggie Hofer, and his brother Delbert Glanzer.
