Douglas A. Albright, age 89, of Cavour, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at his home in Cavour. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Douglas Adrian Albright was born on June 14, 1933 in Litchfield, Minnesota to parents Arlo and Evelyn (Issacson) Albright. He grew up in Eden Valley, Minnesota, attending school.

Douglas married Marvilyn Iverson on November 17, 1962 in Litchfield, MN. They made their home in Eden Valley where he farmed for over 30 years before moving to South Dakota in 1985. He also drove school bus for Eden Valley and Iroquois schools. He then worked at LSI in Alpena for 7 ½ years and Walmart in maintenance.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Entertaining and guiding for pheasant hunters from Minnesota was also an event he looked forward to. He also liked to water-ski. He also liked to dance and square dance while roller skating. Doug was a member of the Cavour Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Marvilyn of Cavour; his children, Randall (Anita) Albright of Paynesville, MN and Lena (Gary) Parsons of Cavour; four grandchildren, Alyssa (Colin) Belding of Madison, Jarrid Parsons of Rochester, MN, Jason (Lindsey) Albright of Paynesville, MN, and Jeffrey Albright and his fiancé, Katie, of Mayer, MN; four great-grandchildren, Bently Belding, Stella Albright, Ivy Albright, Arlo Albright; special friends Wayne (Darcy) Noack and their children, Gabrielle, Gaven, and Graysen Noack; three brothers-in-law, Lealand Iverson of Doland, Gerould (Darlene) Iverson of Worthington, MN, and Delmar (Barb) Iverson of Huron; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Derrick Dalton; sister Eleanor Partain and brother Donald "Bud" Albright.
