Doris Isabelle Storbeck, age 92, of Huron, SD, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the SunQuest Health Care Center in Huron. Her Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, with burial at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Jeffers Cemetery in Jeffers, MN. Visitation, with the family present, will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the Welter Funeral Home on Saturday, February 9. Doris Isabelle McCloud, the daughter of Orin Noel and Mamie Odivia (Ness) McCloud, was born on April 29, 1920, in Webb, IA. In March of 1921, Doris and her family moved to Jeffers, MN. She attended schools and graduated from Jeffers Public High School. Doris married Lyle Storbeck on December 14, 1939 in Jeffers, MN. Lyle and Doris lived in the Jeffers area until moving to Huron, SD on April 10, 1961. Doris worked as a clerk for the Magness Sales Barn in Huron, SD for 27 years. She was also the bookkeeper for Storbeck Trucking. Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Huron. She was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star Chapter #295 in Jeffers, MN. Doris enjoyed many years of bowling and golfing. She was also an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins. Doris was a devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Grateful for having shared in Doris' life are her two daughters, Patricia (LaMoine) Nickel of Lamberton, MN and Gail (Thomas) Richter of Dakota Dunes, SD; five grandchildren: Kimberly (Glen) Macziewski, Kristine (Kenneth) Sieverding, Jared (Leah) Richter, Jessica (Seth) Major, and Jason (Jessica) Richter; nine great-grandchildren: Samantha and Sydney Sieverding, Nicholas and Mitchell Macziewski, Brayden and Adalie Major, and Caleb, Shea, and Jackson Richter; brother, Russell (Vonna) McCloud, of Jeffers, MN; and several nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle in 2003; son, Larry Lyle Storbeck in 1956; three sisters, Leota (Wayne) Sorensen, Bernice (Joe) Fjeseth, and Audrey (Pat) Caldwell; and brother, Orin (Charlotte) Ness.
