Doris Schroeder, age 85, of Huron died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron. Her funeral will be 11:00 am Monday, January 7, 2013 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be one hour before the service on Monday at the church. Doris Lillian Schroeder was born on May 14, 1927 to Edward and Louise (Neuharth) Lehr in Alpena. She went to a Beadle County Country School through 8th grade. Doris worked for a time at St. John's Hospital and then from 1950 to 1952 at Armour Meat Packing Plant. On August 23, 1952, Doris married Herman J. Schroeder at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron. The couple had three sons, Rodney, Ronald and Rickie. They lived on the farm south of Huron until 1978, when they moved into town. Doris is survived by sisters-in-law, Betty Schroeder of Huron, Marie Berquist of Huron, and Esther (Alvin) Halbur of Huron; nieces, nephews, and several cousins. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman in 1988; her three sons, Rodney Lee, Ronald Dean, and Richie Eugene Schroeder; one infant brother; and one infant sister.
