Doris Jean Neumeyer, age 79, of Belle Fourche, SD, died Sunday morning, January 2, 2005, at her home in Belle Fourche. Her Memorial Service will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at the Funeral Home of the Northern Hills, Belle Fourche, with Pastor Ken Stillson officiating. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, January 7, 2005, at American Lutheran Church in Huron, SD, with Rev. Steven Brandsrud officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens. Friends may call Thursday evening, January 6, at the Welter Funeral Home or Friday morning before services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donors choice. Doris Jean Meisenhelder was born November 19, 1925, in Huron to Mabel and William Meisenhelder. She grew up on a farm south of Huron and attended country school and graduated from Alpena High School in 1943. On October 20, 1946, Doris married Earl H. Neumeyer. They moved to Huron in 1948, where she worked for Northwest Security Bank for 19 years as head teller. After she and her husband moved to Pierre, she was employed by the South Dakota Department of Revenue. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche, and was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Earl of Belle Fourche; 2 daughters, Linda (Edward) McAtee of Winston-Salem, NC, and Janelle Nold of Lodi, CA; 4 grandchildren, Amy (Lou) Valente of Winston-Salem, NC, Erin (Patrick) Peterson of Charleston, SC, Kellie Nold of San Luis Obispo, CA, and Joshua Nold of Lodi, CA; 1 great granddaughter, Elaina Valente; two sisters, Mary Donner of Belview, MN, and Bette Abel of Spearfish; along with numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Ada Stampher.
