Doris K. Culver, age 93, of Huron, passed away on Wednesday, August, 21, 2019 at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron. Her funeral service will be on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Welter Funeral Home with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Huron.

Visitation, with her family present will be from 5-7 PM on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Welter Funeral Home.

Doris Kathleen Tschetter was born on February 13, 1926 in rural Beadle County to parents Andrew P. and Susie (Hofer) Tschetter. Doris attended country school.

Doris married Robert L. Culver in Pipestone, MN on March 12, 1946 and to this union three children were born. Doris enjoyed being a part of the custom harvesting family as well as being a farmwife.

Doris loved to bake bread and goodies for her family. She enjoyed being in her vegetable garden at the farm. Doris also enjoyed doing embroidery. Her cat, Gillie, never strayed far from Doris's side.

She was preceded in death by her husband and grandson, Jim Culver and her sister Hazel Gross.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Jerry (Joan) Culver of Iroquois, June (Larry) Holbeck of Armour, and Ardis (Morris) Beck of Mitchell. Five grandchildren, Jeff (Brooke) Culver, Jay Culver, John (Kaelynn) Culver, Melissa Beck, and Nicole Beck. Nine great-grandchildren, Raysia, Gracie, Chloe, Colt, Levi, Jerrytt, Caleb, Gannon, and Landon. Two sisters, Irene Scott of Wessington Springs and Jeannette Johnson of Huron; and special friend, Linda Ingle of Huron.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doris' name to the Beadle County Humane Society.
