Dora Howard, age 91, of Huron, died on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.

Her Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, at Welter Funeral Home with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Huron.

Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Friday, December 11, at Welter Funeral home with the family present from 6-8 p.m.; or one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Dora Fern Hall, the daughter of James and Leona Mary Bertha (Mannie) Hall, was born on October 1, 1918, in Huron, SD. She attended Huron schools.

Dora married Orville Wellington Howard on January 9, 1937, at the Methodist Episcopal Church in Huron, SD. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1987.

Doras occupations included first and foremost, being a wonderful wife and mother to her seven children. She also worked at Swift Company, Armour Meats, Montgomery Ward, Gambles, and Culligan.

Dora attended the First United Methodist Church in Huron. She enjoyed reading, baking, sewing, and making crafts for her family.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her 5 daughters, Sondra (Joe) Lockwood of Sioux Falls, SD, Cherryl Corcoran of Huron, Signe (Terry) Texley of Sioux Falls, Sue (Dick) Erickson of Yankton, SD, and Peggy (Neil) Tschetter of Rapid City, SD; son, Kevin Howard of Rapid City, SD;daughter-in-law Patty Howard 21 grandchildren and their spouses; 43 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Zieske of Huron; her special great-niece Sheri Hall; and several nieces and nephews.

Dora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orville on January 21, 1987; her son, Jon on April 30, 1994; 3 brothers, James, Tillison, and Charles Hall; her sister, Eva Hall; and her son-in-law, Jerry Corcoran on April 22, 2005.
