Donna L. Peterson, age 94, of Huron, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Huron Regional Medical Center. A visitation, with her family present, will be held from 1-3 PM on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron. A private burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Huron.

Donna Louise was born on January 26, 1928 in Litchfield, Minnesota to parents Emile and Emma (Mortenson) Nelson. She grew up in the Litchfield area, graduating from high school.

Donna married George Peterson in Atwater, Minnesota on June 7, 1952. Donna and George made their home in Huron. Donna enjoyed golfing and bowling for many years. Reading was also a favorite pastime of hers.

She is survived by her son, Tom (Cindy) Peterson of Owasso, OK; grandchildren, Eric (Mireille) Peterson of Dallas, TX and Bridget (Ryan) Campbell of Sioux Falls, SD; great-grandchildren, Jace Peterson, Cole and Reese Campbell.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, George in 2014; her grandson, Dallas Peterson; siblings, Bob Nelson, Phil Nelson, and Margaret Nelson; and her parents, Emile and Emma Nelson.
