Donna Madsen, age 73, of Huron, SD, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at her cabin on West Whitlock Bay near Gettysburg, SD.

Her Memorial service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Welter Funeral Home.  Her visitation, with the family present, will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday.

Donna Louise Snow the daughter of Norv and Emma (Carda) Snow, was born on December 16, 1943 in Faulkton, SD.  Donna attended various schools before graduating from Redfield High School in 1961.    Donna also attended and graduated from the Aberdeen School of Commerce. She worked as a bank teller for several banks including the National Bank of South Dakota, the St. Cloud Bank, and the Farmers and Merchants Bank of Huron for many years. Donna also worked at the Huron Daily Plainsman and the Aberdeen American News as well as South Dakota Job service and American Family Insurance.

Donna married LeRoy Madsen on October 13, 1984 in Redfield, SD.

Donna enjoyed cooking, her house plants, and traveling to Alaska to visit.  She especially liked going to the cabin on West Whitlock Bay.

Grateful for having shared in Donna's life are her husband, LeRoy of Huron, sons, Steven (Judy) Stahl of Huron, SD and Brian Madsen of Wasilla, Alaska; daughter, Barbara (Jason) Dewan, Wasilla, Alaska; grandchildren: Brenton, Mathew (Jessica), Dustin, Breanna, Sara, Scott, Todd, Victoria, Chanze, Kory, Klarissa, and Tristin; great-grandchildren: Chloey, Emma, Logan, Willow, Spencer, Jerrica, Christopher, Landon, Kayden, Selby, Ricky, and Abbie; siblings, Norva (Dennis) Rausch, Gettysburg, SD, Joanne Spindler, La Crosse, WI, and Chris (Kirk) Sargent, Wessington, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Brenda Potter; granddaughter, Selby Larson; brother-in-law, Larry Spindler; and sisters-in-law, Kathy Larsen, and Rose Price.
