Donald L. Jury, age 53, of Huron, formerly of Miller, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013, at his home in Huron. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Huron, with burial at the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 25, at the Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Donald Linnell Jury, the son of Delbert and Doris (McElvain) Jury, was born on March 11, 1960 at the Hand County Hospital in Miller, SD. He attended school and graduated from Miller High School. Donald attended Wyo-Tech in Laramie, WY, where he received degrees in Auto body and Custom painting. Donald worked for Prostrollo Auto and Precision Auto as a collision repair specialist for many years, a job that was his lifetime love. Donald was a member of The Backstreet Cruisers Auto Club, serving as its president. He was also a member of the "Dame and De Boys Pool Team" playing in many tournaments in Huron and Pierre, SD. Donald helped found the Rolling Thunder Speedway Go Cart Track in Huron and was always willing to help out at the track whenever needed. He enjoyed rummage sales, and playing pool and foosball in tournaments all over the state of South Dakota. Donald loved cars and car shows, and had been asked to be a Judge for many of the car shows in South Dakota, including Wheel Jam. Grateful for having shared in Donald's life are his son, Justin Jury of Huron, SD; his daughter, Darcie Jury of Elko, NV; three grandchildren, Chase, Jaden, and Haley; parents, Delbert and Doris Jury of Miller, SD; sister, Deb (Henry) Moser of Canton, SD; and several nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his grandparents, H.E. (Florence) Jury and Maggie Petrlik and Baxter McElvain.
