Donald Delvaux, age 85, of Huron, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron. A burial of his cremated remains will be held 9:30 am Saturday, February 25, 2012 at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Cavour. Following the graveside service, there will be a lunch at Living Hope Alliance Church 1179 Frank Ave SE, Huron. Memorial visitation with family present will be from 6-8 pm Friday, February 24, 2012 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron. Donald Ray Delvaux was born November 11, 1926 near Wessington to Frank and Elnora (Namanny) Delvaux. He attended Wessington public schools. Donald joined the Navy December 14, 1943, serving in Florida. After being Honorably Discharged on September 11, 1947, he made his way across the country working in restaurants as a chef. Donald married Margaret Bell in Las Vegas. Donald finally retired while living in California in 1975. Donald enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fishing. Donald is survived by his son, Hans (Gene) Delvaux of Huron; step children, Rubin (Nadia) Scarlett of MD, Rachell Alvarez of Mexico; five grandchildren, Tracy Delvaux, Chris Delvaux, Sarah Smith, Ericka Filter, Rebecca Delvaux; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Blain (Marlys) Delvaux of San Diego; and sister, Lois Cown of Spearfish, SD. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
