Dolly Pierce, age 89, of 1345 Michigan Ave. SW, and formerly of 371 6th St. NE, Huron, died Sunday afternoon, April 18, 2004, at the Huron Nursing Home. A private burial service of her cremated remains will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Dolly Pierce was born Dolly Long on December 2, 1914, to Charles and Maude (Lound) Long at Winside, NE. The family moved to Huron in 1917 where Dolly attended school and graduated from Huron High School in 1932. On December 10, 1932, Dolly married Frank Pierce at Lake Preston, SD. She was employed at Sears & Roebuck as a clerk for many years. The couple lived in Huron all of their life. She is survived by 1 nephew, Larry (Gloria) Long of Rushmore, MN; 2 nieces, Judy (Bob) Ramler of Onida, SD, and Sandra (Steve) Palmer of Richmond, TX; 2 great nephews; 4 great nieces; 1 sister-in-law, Helen Long of Huron; and special friends, Richard and Jacki De Long and family of Huron. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank on February 28, 1999; 2 brothers, Charles Long, and Earl Long; 1 sister-in-law, Mabel Long; 1 great nephew, Darry Wagner; and 1 brother-in-law, Roy Pierce.
