Dixie Patterson, age 78, of Huron, SD, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society in Miller, SD.

Her memorial service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Mt. Olivet Church in Huron, SD, with burial at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Huron, SD.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the start of the service at the church on Thursday.

Dixie Boring, the daughter of Kenny and Glennys (Seitz) Maddox, was born on February 22, 1941 in Boelus, NE.  Dixie attended school in Boelus, NE.  Dixie worked for TRW, operated a daycare service in Huron, and worked in the St. Martins lunch room. She also worked as a quality control technician for Dakota Pork for many years and then at Resenberger Transportation until her retirement.

Dixie married Milton Patterson on May 24, 1964 in Ogallala, NE and then moved to Huron.

Dixie loved the outdoors especially fishing and mowing her lawn.  She loved motorcycles and fixing things in general. Dixie's family and friends were very important to her and she loved spending time with them.

Grateful for having shared in Dixie's life are her two sons; Pat (Tina) Patterson of Sioux Falls and Melvin Patterson of Gardener, NC; grandchildren; Holly Patterson of Wisconsin, Nicole (Michael) Dorris of Huron, Kyle Patterson of Sioux Falls; great-grandchildren; Carson Dorris and Kinsley Dorris of Huron; brothers; Warren Dale Boring  of California and Lonnie Boring of Brule, NE; sisters; Audrey (Don) Dethlefs of Brule, NE, Correne McEntee of Ogallala, NE; and several nieces and nephews.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Milton in 1998; sister; Wyvonna; and best friend Patsy Roberts.
