Deloris A. Houck, age 67 of Huron, died Sunday, October 27, 2013, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Her funeral service will be 10:30 am Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Huron with burial in Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Welter Funeral Home; or Wednesday morning one hour prior to the service at the church. Deloris Ann Podhradsky was born on January 22, 1946, to Steve and Hilda (Huether) Podhradsky in Huron. She graduated from Huron High School in 1964. After graduation, Deloris worked at the Side Walk Café in Huron, where she eventually met and played pinball with Dennis Houck. She married Dennis on April 29, 1967, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Huron. The couple made their home near Cavour on the farm. After her boys were grown, Deloris worked for Avenue of Flowers for many years. She retired to stay home and help Dennis after his health started to fail. Deloris loved to read books, and was always collecting cows. She loved to take care of her flowers, especially her African Violets. She also enjoyed listening to birds in the morning. Deloris is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dennis Houck of Huron; two sons, Dan Houck of Pierre, and David Houck of Huron; brother, Steve (Jody) Podhradsky of Huron; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; and nephew, Mark Podhradsky.
