Delia K. Dunham, age 95 of Iroquois, SD, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 at her home in Iroquois. Her funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Esmond United Methodist Church with burial at the Maplewood Cemetery in Iroquois, SD. Visitation with the family present will be held from 5-7 PM Wednesday, March 4 at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, SD. Delia Katherine Burma, daughter of John Henry and Lucy Ann (Montgomery) Burma, was born July 17, 1919 on the family farm in Pearl Creek Township, Beadle County. She attended school at Oldenberg School. Delia married Leo George Dunham on June 10, 1953 at her parent's home in Pearl Creek Township and joined her husband on the farm in Belle Prairie Township, Beadle County. Delia was a housewife, rancher, and farmer. Delia was a member of the Esmond United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, the Iroquois Senior Citizens, the County Extension Group, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Delia enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting, sewing, and embroidery. Delia loved to travel. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Grateful for having shared in Delia's life are her children: Selma Dunham of Sioux Falls, SD; Charemon Dunham of Iroquois, SD; Leo H. Dunham of Viborg, SD; and Annette Dunham of Iroquois, SD; sister-in-law, Elaine Burma of Huron, SD; and her many nieces and nephews. Delia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; daughter, Sharon Dunham; sister, Velma Matter, and brother, Bernard Burma.
