Obituary
Debra L. Benston, age 52, of 1345 Michigan Ave, SW, Huron, died Monday, May 11, 2009, at the Sunquest Healthcare Center in Huron, after a long battle with Huntingtons Disease.
Her Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 15, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Huron.
A family gathering will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at the funeral home.
Debra L. Benston, the daughter of Donald K. and Verna Mae (Larsen) Benston was born on December 5, 1956, in Huron, SD. She graduated from Huron High School. Debra worked for the Hangar Restaurant for many years. She also worked as a Nurses Aide for the SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron, until her health forced her to retire.
Debra enjoyed fishing, tending to her garden, and spending time with her family and friends. Her pets were her life.
Grateful for having shared her life are her brother, Larry Benston of Huron, SD; her sister, Rhonda (Kenneth) Benston-Showman of Mesa, AZ; her niece, Danielle, and two nephews, Barry, and Kristopher; her 3 great-nieces, and 2 great nephews; her very special friend, Georgeen Brown of Huron, SD; Brenda Shoemaker, CO; and her friends, the great staff at the Sunquest Healthcare Center.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Verna Mae.
