Debbie Marvel, age 61, of Huron, died Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Memorial visitation with family present will be 6-8 pm Wednesday July 18, 2012 at Welter Funeral Home. A private memorial service and inurnment at Restlawn Memory Gardens will be at a later date. Deborah Jane Marvel was born February 19, 1951 in Huron to Clarence and Betty (Phinney) Holforty. She graduated from Huron High School in 1969. Debbie married Doug Marvel on December 31, 1986 in Mitchell. Debbie enjoyed gardening, antiquing, cooking, and spending time with her grandkids. Debbie is survived by her husband of 25 years, Doug Marvel of Huron; her children, Josh (Nicole) Sammons of Windom, MN, Molly (Jason) Goldammer of Huron, Annie (Austin) McKinney of Huron, Matt Marvel of Bozeman, MT; six grandchildren, Kade, Kendyl, Hadley, and Haidyn Sammons, Cash Goldammer, and Ellee McKinney; her mother, Betty Holforty of Huron; two brothers, Gary Holforty of Mitchell, Dan (Deb Kludt) Holforty of Huron; several nieces and nephews. Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Holforty, and one niece, Lori Holforty.
