Deanna R. Snyder, age 74, of Iroquois, SD, died Thursday, November 15, 2012, at the Sunquest Health Care Center in Huron, SD. Her body has been cremated and her memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Iroquois, SD, with burial at the Maplewood Cemetery in Iroquois. Memorial visitation with family present will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, November 18, at the Welter Funeral Home. Deanna R. Dean, the daughter of Raymond and Margaret (Clark) Dean, was born on February 28, 1938, in Rock Island, IL. Deanna attended school in Artesian and Mitchell where she received training as a surgical nurse. Deanna worked for Raven Enterprises as a seamstress for over thirty years. She also owned and operated a quilting business for several years. Deanna married Tenis H. Snyder on November 23, 1957 at Artesian, SD. The couple made their home at Iroquois, SD. Deanna was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed calligraphy, ceramics, crocheting, macramé and decophage. Deanna had a "green thumb" and could make anything grow. She also enjoyed baking and cooking. She did not let much keep her down and lived life to its fullest. She loved going to movies with her friends and spending time with her family. She did so many things for so many people, and she enjoyed doing it. Grateful for having shared in her life are her three sons, Micheal (Martha Fiddyment) Snyder of Carson City, NV, Kelly (Debra) Snyder of Huron, and Rodney (Brenda) Snyder of Huron; one daughter, Rita (Wayne Shireman) Snyder of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; nine grandchildren, Matt, Cory, Reed, Jesse, Barry, Steven (Marybeth), Lindsey, Angela (Brian), and Brooke (Luke); 6 great-grandchildren, Ian, Jordyn, Alissa, Taylor, Brynlee, and Brody; four brothers, Marion and Raymond Dean Jr. both of Artesian, SD, Henry Dean of Brandon, SD, and William Dean of South Carolina; 6 sisters: Eleanor Dean of Hilton Head, SC, Ruth Nelson of Colorado, Audrey Schmelzer and Debra Doonan of Illinois, Margie Mercado of Alabama, and Katie Galbraith of Iowa. Deanna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tenis in 2007; and two sisters, Arlene Schoenfelder and Betty McGraw
