David J. Waldner, age 75, of Riverside Colony, rural Huron, died Thursday, December 9, at his home. His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 11, at Riverside Colony Church with burial at Riverside Colony Cemetery. David J. Waldner was born on July 8, 1929, to John and Sara (Hofer) Waldner at Bon Homme Colony, Tabor, SD. Later he moved to Rockport Colony and in 1948, he moved to Riverside Colony. On November 21, 1951, David married Magdalena Hofer. They shared 53 years together. He is survived by his wife Lena; 6 sons; 4 daughters; 45 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; Susanna and Bill Glanzer (William, Herb, Karen, Joel, Rosanna and Nathaniel) Levi and Margaret Waldner (Dale, Brenda, Joseph, Sandra, Jonas, Grace, Michael and Jacob) Jerry and Susie (Jeanie, Victoria, Suzette, Jerrold, Lydia and Nathaniel) David and Dorothy (Marlana, Caleb, Doreen, Abraham and Delia) Maggie and Sam (Samuel, Jennifer, Juanita, Connie, Jaron and Titus) Edward Waldner Clarence and Michelle Waldner (Jared and Daniel) Ruth and Phillip Hofer (Daniel, Diana and Alex) Judy and Johnny Wipf (Jeremy, Jamas, Jonah, Justin and Brandon) Herb and Marlene (Sarah, Rachel, Daniel and David) 2 brothers, Mike (Rebecca), and Sam (Mary); 3 sisters, Rebecca, Mary, and Margaret (Jake); 4 step-brothers, Emmanuel (Kate), Elias, Paul (Dora), and Moses; 3 step-sisters, Elizabeth (Jake), Anna, and Johanna (Paul); and 1 sister-in-law, Katie. David was preceded in death by 3 sons, Jonathon, Joseph, and Daniel; his parents; his stepmother, Sarah Wipf; 3 brothers, John, Joseph, and Jacob; and 1 stepbrother, Daniel.
