Darrell G. Hollister, age 90, of Huron, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. His private Memorial Service will be held at First Congregational Church.

Darrell Hollister was born in Belle Fourche, SD on May 27, 1930 to Lloyd J. Hollister Sr. and Theresa G. Hollister. After attending school in Newell, South Dakota, he moved with his family to Mitchell, South Dakota where he graduated from high school in 1948. He married Ellen Figland on September 3, 1950 and moved to Huron where he worked for Armours, Swifts, and Dakota Pork. He retired in 1994 and thereafter enjoyed spending winters in Arizona and California and summers in Huron.

He was an active member of The Huron Lions Club and enjoyed working with the Armour Federal Credit Union for many years where he eventually served as chairman of the board.

Darrell is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ellen of Huron; sons Gary (Charolene), Tim (June), Ken (Janet) and Scott (Mythuan); 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; brother-in-law Forrest (Leola) Figland and many nieces and nephews.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 1 grandson.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to Beadle County Humane Society and First Congregational Church in Huron.
