Obituary

Darlene G. Ford, age 69, of Huron, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. Her funeral will be 11:30 am Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation with family present will be from 6-8 pm Monday, June 4, 2012 at Welter Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 pm; or one hour prior to the service at the church. Darlene was born on July 5, 1942 in White Lake, SD, to Peter and Ione (Hoffmann) Kolousek. She attended Central School in Crow Lake Township and graduated from Woonsocket High School. Darlene married Earl Ford on September 1, 1962, in Wessington Springs, SD. They made their home in Huron where she worked for several years at Huron Regional Medical Center. She loved bowling, playing cards, embroidery, and family get-togethers. She was a member of St. Martin's/Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Darlene is survived by five children, Donna (Steve) Schneider of Ellsworth, KS, Diane Ford of Las Vegas, NV, Pat Ford of Sioux Falls, Paul Ford of Huron, and Bernard (Cheyenne) Ford of Sioux Falls; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two brothers, Dick (Janet) Kolousek and Robert (Linda) Kolousek of Wessington Springs; three sisters, Margaret Cleveland-Kolousek, of Woonsocket, Rita K. Kolousek of Pukwana, Carol (Dave) Hansen of Denver, CO; sister-in-law, Rita M. Kolousek of Wessington Springs, and a host of other relatives and friends. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl in 2004, one brother, Raymond Kolousek; and one granddaughter, Tina Schneider Deiser.
