Danny Joe Salisbury, age 59, of Wolsey, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Huron Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be 11am on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Welter Funeral Home with burial in the Wolsey Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7 pm on Friday at Welter Funeral Home with a prayer service and time of sharing beginning at 7pm; or one hour prior to the funeral service. Danny was born on October 31, 1955 in Huron, SD to Robert, Sr. and Mary "Micki" (Paulger) Salisbury. He graduated from Wolsey High School in 1973 and was employed at Olsen Implement (Premier Equipment) for 31 years as a machinery set-up mechanic. Danny was united in marriage to Julia Taken on August 12, 1977 in Watertown, SD. They lived in Watertown until March of 1980 when they moved to Wolsey where they have lived since. Danny was an avid John Deere collector and a member of The Antique Power Association. He enjoyed taking his granddaughter Irelyn Jo and God-son Marty Peterson out to the Salisbury farm and have them help him work on machinery, Irelyn and Marty were the highlight of his life. He is survived by his mother, Mary (Mickie) Salisbury; his wife of 38 years and the love of his life, Julia Ann (Taken) Salisbury of Wolsey SD; 1 son, Joe Salisbury of Sioux Falls SD; 1 daughter, Jamie Lyn Salisbury of Blackhawk, SD; 1 granddaughter, Irelyn Jo Salisbury of Blackhawk, SD; 2 brothers Robert Salisbury Jr. of Wolsey, SD and Kevan (Kary) Salisbury of Watertown, SD; 1 sister, Mary Louise (Vernon) Kuper of Ree Heights, SD; 2 brothers-in-law, Robert (Bob) Taken of Wolsey, SD and Les (Kim) Taken of Watertown,SD; 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Jean (Richard) Reed of Trimble, MO and Darlene (David) Buschenfeld of Estelline, SD; his godson, Martin (Marty) Peterson of Wolsey, SD; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, 1 great-great niece, and 1 great-great nephew. Danny was preceded in death by his father, Robert Salisbury, Sr.; 1 brother, Charles (Chuck) Salisbury; 1 sister-in-Law, Cindy (Taken) Moes; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Glen and Thelma (Toering) Taken; and his step father-in-law, Norval Urban.
