Daniel Miner, age 36, of Huron, SD, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at his parents' home. His memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, at First Presbyterian Church in Huron preceded by a private burial service. Visitation with family present will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Welter Funeral Home; or Saturday afternoon one hour prior to the service at the church. Daniel Lloyd Miner, son of Hugh and Helen Lee Ann (McMahon) Miner, was born on January 10, 1975, in Huron, SD. He lived at Children's Care Hospital and School in Sioux Falls; South Dakota Developmental Center in Redfield; and Huron Area Center for Independence. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farm chores, baking and helping in the kitchen, celebrating holidays especially Christmas/ 4th of July, calling family members on the phone, and taking care of his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his parents; Hugh and Helen Lee Ann Miner of rural Cavour; 6 brothers and sisters, Patty Miner of Sioux Falls, Tom (Cecilea) Miner of Miller, Laura Willemssen of Huron, Monica Wingo of Huron, William (Nichole) Miner of Huron, and Emma (Mike) Jouwstra of Sioux Falls; nieces and nephews Dylan Wingo and Marilyn Wingo of Vermillion, Madeline Willemssen and Elizabeth Willemssen of Huron, Chloe Miner, Carson Miner and Arielle Miner of Miller, Grace and Olivia Miner of Huron; his grandparents, Alice Miner of Huron, and Duane Schaefers of Cavour. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul Miner; grandmother, Lauretta McMahon Schaefers; grandfather Lloyd McMahon; and uncle, Kevin Talley.
