Dale E. Scheinert, age 57, of 179 4th St NE, Huron, died Friday, September 16, 2005 at the Huron Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 24, at the Welter Funeral Home with Father George Parmeter officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery with Military Rites by the Huron Veterans Council. Friends may call Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday morning until the time of service at the Welter Funeral Home. The family will be present from 1:00 to 9:00 PM Friday at the funeral home with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Dale E. Scheinert was born on May 6, 1948, to Ernst Leo and Helen Fern (Nowack) Scheinert at Marinette, WI. He moved with his family to Oxnard, CA, as a young boy. He attended school at Oxnard, CA, and Santa Maria, CA, where his family lived for a short time. On May 4, 1968, Dale married Linda (Dean) Gascoigne at Oxnard, CA. On August 8, 1969, Dale entered the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge on September 19, 1976. While in the United States Army he was stationed at Germany, and Ft. Riley, KS, where he and Linda lived. They also lived in Junction City, KS, and for a short time on a farm at rural Industry, KS. In 1976 they moved to Huron and in 1977 they moved to Oxnard, CA. In 1991 when he retired for medical reasons, they moved back to Huron where he has lived since that time. He was a member of the William Reaves American Legion Post #7, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Ventura County CB Club, and the Vietnam Veterans of Ventura County. His hobbies were riding his motorcycle and gardening when he was able and his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Huron; 2 sons, Edward (Jenny Clark) Scheinert of Guam, and Ernst (Kelly) Scheinert of Huron; 5 grandchildren, Natasha, Amanda, Sierra, Samantha, and Nathan; 2 sisters, Rita (Thomas) Harper of Louisiana, and Lisa (Steve) Peterson of Oxnard, CA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dennis; and one nephew, Jesse.
