Dale Keefe, age 72, of Huron, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at his home. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 25, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with burial at St. Martin Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home with a scripture service and rosary service at 7:00 p.m.; or Monday afternoon one hour prior to the service at the church. Dale Willis Keefe, son of Kenneth and Ida (Christianson) Keefe, on October 16, 1940, in Gettysburg, SD. His family was living in Seneca, SD, at the time of his birth. He attended school in the Faulkton area and graduated from Faulkton High school in 1958. On June 4, 1960, Dale married MaryAnne Moreland in Clifton, NJ. They made their home in Seneca where Dale worked for the Seneca Egg Company until 1967. They moved to Huron at that time and Dale worked for Mick's Milling Company in Huron; many years for Zip Feeds, and Hubbard's Feeds. Following his retirement in 2007, Dale worked as school custodian for Holy Trinity Catholic School until a few months prior to his death. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. His family was very important to him, especially the grandkids, and he cherished the time that he could spend with them. In addition, Dale enjoyed playing cards, watching the grandkids and their sporting events. He was an all-around handyman and Mr. Fix-it at home. He is survived by his wife, MaryAnne of Huron; 5 children, Dale (Sunshine Lenning) Keefe of Huron, Linda (Cary) Rentschler of North Mankato, MN, David (Carmen) Keefe of Wolsey, DiAnn (Mike) Budach of Mankato, MN, and Dan Keefe of De Smet; 17 grandchildren, Jami Keefe, Tanner Keefe, Carli Keefe, Paytyn Lenning, Amber (Mike) Wagner, Isaiah Rentschler, Micah Rentschler, Aubrianna Rentschler, CJ Keefe, Lisa Keefe, Eric Budach, Andrew Budach, Jacob Budach, Sara Budach, Kattie Keefe, Anna Keefe, and Jennifer Keefe; 4 great grandchildren, Kaylie Peldo, Serenity Wagner, Zander Wagner, and Brennan Wagner; 3 brothers, Pat (Darlene) Keefe of Rapid City, Dean (Lynn) Keefe of Burke, Virginia, and Richard Keefe of Boise, ID; a niece and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, John Keefe; 1 brother, Wallace Keefe; and 1 sister, Bonnie Keefe.
