Daisy Morrison, age 92, of Huron died Monday, February 24, 2014, at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron. Her graveside service will be held at 9:00 am Saturday, March 1, 2014, in Cedar Township Memorial Cemetery, south of Fremont, IA. There will be no local services. Daisy's family prefers memorial be given to First Baptist Church of Huron. Daisy La Rue Smith Morrison was born on September 15, 1921in Unionville, IA to Henry Ray and Amanda (Foster) Strunk. In 1935, she moved with her family to Fremont, IA. Daisy married Clifford Smith of Fremont on March 9, 1938. The couple moved to Huron, SD, where Cliff worked for the Chicago and Northwestern Rail Road and she worked as a designer for Walker's Flower Shop for the next 40 years. Clifford passed away on October 21, 1971. Daisy then married Wenfred "Wennie" Morrison in 1973. He passed on March 29, 1995. She always treasured her two loving marriages. Daisy was an avid member of Huron's First Baptist Church and Elizabeth Circle. She also frequently volunteered for several Charities. Daisy will be remembered for her excellent cooking, especially candies and pies, her collection of tea cups and saucers, love of animals, and the pride she took in her cozy home. Daisy is survived by her two daughters, Patricia (Jim) Rila of Franklin, PA, Pam (John) Reilly of Appleton, WI; one step-daughter, Delores (Joe) Wipf of Rapid City, SD; five grandchildren, Debra (Rick) Wagner, Scott (Lori) Smith, Brad Reilly, Melissa Reilly, Eric Reilly; one brother, Richard (June) Strunk ; two sisters, Mildred Fern Lowe and Mary Edna Collins; serveral step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Daisy was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Cliff and Wennie; granddaughter, Amanda Reilly; step-son, Bud (LaJune) Morrison; brothers, Robert Perl (Mazine) Strunk, Jack Strunk; sisters, Ruth (Ward) Taylor, Lucille (Dayton) Gates; and nephew Charles (Betty) Locker.
