Cyrus J. Phillips, age 75, of Huron, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.

His funeral service will be held in Nebraska and conducted by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska with interment at Rosehill Cemetery in Pender, NE.

Cy was born on March 15, 1941 in Macy, Nebraska to Henry and Sarah (Webster) Phillips. He lived most of his life in Huron where he worked several odd jobs. He was a gifted painter and writer and was member of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, of which he was very proud of his Native American heritage.

He is survived by his good friends, Jim and Bonnie Sheridan of Huron; and the entire staff at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings.
