Corrie L. Muilenburg, age 68 of Huron, SD passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Avantara Huron.  His funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church in Huron with burial at Maplewood Cemetery in Iroquois.  Visitation will be from 2-6 pm on Monday, March 1, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron with family present from 4-6 pm and a prayer service to begin at 6pm.  Or visitation one hour prior to the service at the Church on Tuesday.

Corrie Lee Muilenburg, the son of Maynard and Berneice (Wells) Muilenburg, was born on September 23, 1952 in Huron, SD.  Growing up in Iroquois, Corrie attended K-12 and graduated from Iroquois High School in 1970.

Corrie married Julie Bunt in 1985. They had daughter Bridget. Although life took them on different paths, they always remained friends.

He enjoyed playing the trumpet and often played Taps for veteran funerals. He was active in Boy Scouts, Legion baseball, trap shooting, and breaking horses. He gained experience in high school tinkering with motorcycles and cars and continued that throughout his life; at one point, he was a motorcycle mechanic at Dakota Cycles in Huron.  Corrie worked as the grounds and maintenance supervisor at the SD State Fair grounds for 12 years and concluded his career as the maintenance supervisor for Dakota Provisions from 2005 until his retirement in 2019.

He enjoyed spending time with his daughter and siblings and treasured his "Grandpa time" with his grandsons, Brecken and Jameson. Corrie also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding and working on motorcycles. He was active in the Huron area motorcycle community.

Grateful for having shared in Corrie's life are his daughter, Bridget Muilenburg of Alpena, SD; two grandchildren, Brecken and Jameson; two brothers, Macy (Sue) Muilenburg of Wessington Springs and Craig (Michelle) Muilenburg of Groton, SD; three sisters, JanElla (Jene) Carroll of Tyler, TX, JoLynne (Kevin) Parmely of Huron, and JuliAnn (Joe) Wolf of Henderson, NV; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Liz Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Berneice and Maynard; and one brother, Berne.
