Constance L. Connie Holloway, age 82, of 375 Dakota Ave. S., Huron, SD, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at her home. Her memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kevin Channell officiating. There will be a private burial service of her cremated remains at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Connie Holloway was born Constance Lorraine Redick on December 31, 1925, to George and Manda (Engebretson) Redick in Sioux City, IA. She attended schools in Sioux City and graduated from Sioux City Central High School in 1944. On October 3, 1947, Connie married Douglas Holloway in Sioux City, IA. The couple moved to Huron in 1960. Connie was the bar manager at Lorens Lounge, and worked at the Holy Cow Casino, both in Huron, for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Forrest McMullen VFW Post #1776 Auxiliary, William Reaves American Legion Post #7 Auxiliary, and the Bridge Club. She cherished the time that she could spend with her children and grandchildren; and enjoyed reading, shopping, and her many friendships. She is survived by 4 children, Diane (Chuck) Clayton of Huron, SD, Mark (Julie) Holloway of Grand Prairie, TX, Gail (Mark) Boddicker of Hermosa, SD, and Donna (Michael) Block of Temecula, CA; 1 daughter-in-law, Judy Holloway of Carson City, NV; 7 grandchildren, Bryan Holloway, Jon Holloway, Pace Clayton, Cade Clayton, Lavin Midcalf, Alexa Midcalf, and Sierra Block; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doug in 1989; 2 sons, infant Douglas Holloway, Jr., and Larry Holloway in 2002; 1 sister, LaVerne Lee; and dear friend, Betty Drake in 2007.
