Connie Hintz, age 55, of Huron, SD, formerly of Yale, SD, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. Her body has been cremated and her memorial service will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Welter Funeral Home. Memorial visitation with family present will be one hour prior to the service. Connie Sue Hintz, daughter of Leroy and LaVonne (Hofer) Hintz, was born on July 1, 1957, in Huron, SD. She graduated from Iroquois High School in 1975. On July 12, 1975, Connie married Dan Drake in Yale, SD. The couple moved to Denver, CO, where Connie spent many years working in auto-parts sales. She moved to Chandler, AZ, and worked for Brock Supply Auto Parts phone center. Connie returned to Huron where she worked for Larson Digging for a couple of years. She returned to Chandler and worked for a grocery store as the manager of the floral department, but retired due to poor health. In March of 2013 she returned to Huron to be with her family and friends. Connie was a member of 4-H while she was growing up, and a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Yale. Her many interests included her love of animals especially her dog, Ryder. During her auto parts career she received numerous customer service awards and certificates for her exceptional work. She also enjoyed baking, and gardening with a special love for flowers. She is survived by 1 son, Barry Drake of Aurora, CO; 1 granddaughter, Shaunah Mae Drake of Aurora, CO; 4 sisters, Carey Hintz of Huron, Corey (Keith) Decker of Huron, LaNette Kouf of Lake Byron, and Laurie (Russ) Kleinsasser of Huron; 1 brother, Scott (Lori) Hintz of Yale; many nieces and nephews. Connie was preceded in death by her parents.
