Obituary

Clarence D. Wagner, age 78, of 2019 Ohio Ave SW, Huron, and formerly of Wolsey, died Saturday, February 17, 2007, at the Huron Nursing Home. His funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, February 21, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Wolsey with Rev. L. Scott Spiehs officiating. Burial will be at the Wolsey Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 PM this Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Wednesday morning. The family will be present from 7:00 to 9:00 PM this Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Clarence David Wagner was born on July 11, 1928, to Dave and Emma (Buchholz) Wagner at Wolsey, SD. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Wolsey where he was a life long member. He attended grade school at the Dittmer School and received his eighth grade Public School Diploma on June 3, 1944. On November 10, 1946, Clarence married Deloris Elaine Johnson at St. Johns Lutheran Church at Wolsey. They made their home and farmed in the Wolsey area for all of their life together. Deloris passed away on June 11, 2001. He also worked for the Beadle County Highway Department and W.E. Bartholow Construction Company. Clarence loved his family and the times spent with them on the farm, especially during the past few years when he had miniature ponies and his JD gator. Clarence is survived by 3 daughters, Deanna (Larry) Wendt of Huron, Mary (Glen) Hurst of Papillion, NE, and Jeanne Banks of Olathe, KS; 1 son, Robert (Lynn Nett) Wagner of Wolsey; 13 grandchildren, Bradley Hurst, Matthew Hurst, Ronald Banks, Justin Wagner, Chad Hurst, David Seaman, Ryan Banks, Shane Banks, Kelly Korkow, Kandee Leif, Desirae Wagner, Kimberly Goeller, and Jennifer Haeder; 30 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Elton Wagner of Windom, MN; 5 sisters-in-law and 3 brothers-in-law, Adeline Reilly of Iroquois, Joyce Rahder of Huron, Norman and Connie Neuharth of Wolsey, Larry and Marcia Johnson of Huron, Iris Johnson of Wolsey, and Dannie Johnson of Wentworth. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Deloris; and 1 sister, Melinda.
