Clara Thelma Harmon, age 84 of Huron, SD, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron.  Visitation with the family present, will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 10 at the Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Clara Thelma LeBeau, the daughter of Ray E. and Katherine T. (Lennox) LeBeau, was born on July 30, 1932 in Wichita, KS.  She attended schools in the Wichita area.  Clara was a mother first and raised her seven children.  After her kids left, Clara went to work for the SunQuest Healthcare Center as a housekeeper and worked there for many years before her retirement.

Clara married Dennis Lee Harmon Sr. 0n June 3, 1950 in Wichita, KS.  Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to Huron.  They also lived in Minnesota and California before returning to live once again in Huron in their later years.

Clara enjoyed traveling to Branson, MO, camping at the Snake River, reading, going to rummage sales, and traveling on the bus to "go spend a nickel" at the Casinos.  Clara loved to dress up in old fashioned clothing with her husband, Dennis and take road trips in their 1901 Oldsmobile that Dennis built.  Dennis was the love of her life and it was not uncommon to see Clara and Dennis holding hands wherever they went.  Clara also loved her family dearly and was so very proud of each one of her kids and looked forward every year to their family reunions.  A fond memory of Clara's kids was the "Body Cakes" or Kroppkaka that Clara would make for supper every Christmas as part of their Christmas Tradition.

Grateful for having shared in Clara's life are her husband of 67 years, Dennis of Huron, SD; six children: Rod (Signe) Harmon of Huron, Renee (Larry) Reimer of Woonsocket, SD, Pam (Dave) Ferguson of Huron, Russanne (Glen) Ellerton of Mitchell, SD, Helen Ganske of Tea, SD, and Dennis Jr. (Bonnie) Harmon of St Paul, MN; 13 grandchildren: Dezerae (Adam) Fenski, Dexter Harmon, Rachell Reimer, Heather Reimer, Jason (Brenda) Ferguson, Brandy Ferguson, Eric (Dani) Ellerton, Ryan (Monacha) Ellerton, Nick Ganske, Robbie(Victoria) Salmonson, Rick Zepp, Travis (Carol) Ferguson, and Trent (Angel) Ferguson; 29 great-grandchildren: Gage, Talon, Ivory and Haven Fenski, Denver Harmon, Dayna and Mazie Opsahl, Sarah and Megan Baysinger, Hayden Ferguson, Alex and Chase Ferguson, Tea and Devin Ellerton, Jaylynn and Hayden Schmatz and Haylee Ellerton, Jackie Salmonson, Jacque High, Derek Ferguson, Lacey Ferguson, Jordan Ferguson, Stephan Ferguson, Shelby Ferguson, Joche Ferguson,  Dalton Ferguson, and Cody Zepp; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Clara was preceded in in death by her parents; her daughter, Ruth Elaine Harmon; grandson, Robert Dean Ganske in 1977; three brothers, Joe Treat, Bill Lennox, and Edward LeBeau; and sister, Kathy.
