Chris Dugdale, age 68 of Huron, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls.

His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, August 22 , 2025 at Welter Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Chris Leeroy Dugdale was born on August 26, 1956 to parents Melvin and Evelyn (Emery) Dugdale in De Smet, South Dakota.

Chris married Lily Sullivan in Huron in 2004. He worked for several years in the maintenance department at Dakota Provisions. He was a competitive person in nature and enjoyed all kinds of games. He loved music and playing his many albums on his turntable. He also enjoyed gardening and treasured time spent with family. He had a great love for the outdoors, enjoying camping and boating trips with his family, or a night spent around a fire cooking s'mores.

He is survived by his wife Lily of Huron; children Thomas (Alexis) Dugdale of Rochester, MN, Joseph Dugdale of Rochester, MN, and Kathy (Cory) Ray of St. Lawrence, SD; three grandchildren, Alex and Delilah Ray of St. Lawrence, SD and Jonas Dugdale of Rochester, MN; brothers, Lee (Sue) Dugdale of Scandia, MN, Rich (Pamela) Dugdale of Isle, MN, and Jim (Mary) Dugdale of Minneapolis, MN; sister Mary (Bill) Kant of Sioux Falls; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Kenneth Zimmerman; his grandson, Jack Richard Ray; three sisters, Donna Taschner, Irene Lee, and Rose Carstens.
