Chase Arthur Luke, age 25, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at his home in rural Wolsey, SD. His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2015 at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, with burial at the Riverside Cemetery in Huron, SD. Visitation with the family present will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, August 23, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron; or one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Chase, the son of Jacqueline Friedrichsen and Steven Luke was born on March 18, 1990 in Huron SD. He attended school in Huron and received his GED. Chase also attended Freed-Hardeman College in Tennessee and majored in accounting. Chase worked for the Crossroads in Huron. He also worked for Dairy Queen, Subway, and the Wells Fargo Bank. Chase was always very stylish. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke around. He loved music and jamming out to his favorite tunes. He was also a great dancer. Chase had a kind heart and was always willing to put other people first. He had an infectious smile. Chase loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was a proud uncle of four nephews and one niece, and was especially proud of his nephew, Markus. Grateful for having shared in Chase's life are his mother, Jackie Friedrichsen of Wolsey, SD; father, Steven Luke of Springfield, SD; step-father, Brian Friedrichsen; brother, Tony Luke of Watertown, SD; three sisters: Vanessa (Andrew) Landsteiner of Fairmont, MN, Haley Luke of Springfield, SD, and Susie Luke of Huron, SD; grandparents, Agnes Gilchrist of Iroquois, SD and Gladys "Sue" Ripple-Luke; Step-grandfather, Le Roy Friedrichsen; his niece and nephews, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his many friends. Chase was preceded in death by his grandpa, Frank Gilchrist and Grandpa Norris Luke; step-grandmothers, Violet Friedrichsen and Beverly Wormstadt-Friedrichsen; his great-grandparents, Charles and Ina Gilchrist, Amos and Elvida "Vi" Stafford, and Francis Schmaltz.
