Charles L. Stotz, age 64, of Huron, SD passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. His Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, with military honors by the Huron Veterans Council. Burial will be 11:00a.m. Mountain Standard Time, Wednesday, June 6, at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, May 26 at the funeral home. Charles L. Stotz, the son of Eugene Milton and Viola Tillie (Bauder) Stotz, was born on November 17, 1947 in Mobridge, SD. He attended schools and graduated from McLaughlin High School. Charles also attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. Charles entered into Military service in July of 1970 and was honorably discharged. Charles married Paulette Jean Marone and to this union were born two sons, Charles and Curtis. Charles was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge. Charles was an exceptional hunter in his early years. Charles enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren especially their fishing trips together. Charles was a general contractor, designing and building malls and office buildings, including the drafting and designing of the local Pizza Hut in Huron. Charles owned and operated the Lead Lumberyard for a number of years. Grateful for having shared in his life are his two sons, Charles (Lisa) Stotz, of Dunkirk, MD and Curtis Stotz of Huron, SD; 4 grandchildren: Timothy Paul and Allison Lisa Regina Stotz and Tiffany Ann and Shane Hunter Stotz ; brother, Craig (Deb) Stotz of McLaughlin, SD; and sister, Gail Stotz of Box Elder, SD. Charles was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.
