Charles "Chuck"
Snyder
March 8, 1964 – May 8, 2026
Charles “Chuck” Franklin Snyder Jr., age 62, of Huron, SD, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026 while surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. Chuck fought hard until the very end, showing the same strength, determination, and love for life that defined him every day. His memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Welter Funeral Home. Visitation with his family present will take place the hour before the service on Thursday afternoon.
Chuck was born on March 8, 1964, in Pomona, CA to Charles Snyder, Sr. and Louise Hasche. He grew up alongside his siblings, Joe and Sue, and graduated from Iroquois High School in 1982. Following high school, he attended WyoTech, where he pursued his passion for mechanics and automobiles.
Chuck returned home to Iroquois and began work at G&H Bodyshop, which Chuck stated was the best job he had, noting the fun working atmosphere. A few years later, he started a trucking company alongside his brother, Joe. He continued his professional career working for Trussbilt and Lankota, building a reputation as a hardworking and dependable man. Outside of work, he turned his love for cars into a small business restoring and selling wrecked vehicles he had fixed up. He had a true talent for bringing things back to life and took great pride in every project he completed.
Chuck had two children, Paige and Lucas, who were the center of his world. Few things brought him more joy than watching his children pursue the sports they loved, cheering on Lucas at hockey games and supporting Paige in rodeo events. He was a proud and devoted father whose encouragement and presence meant everything to his family.
Chuck loved the outdoors and anything with a motor. He was an avid Harley-Davidson fan and treasured summer days spent riding his motorcycle with friends. Whether he was working on a car, enjoying the open road, or spending time with family, Chuck lived life fully and passionately.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, his mechanical talent, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. Chuck touched many lives throughout his journey, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children, Paige (Zane) Wuestewald and Lucas (Kylie Hanebuth) Snyder; his mother, Louise Hasche; his siblings, Joe (Debbie) Snyder and Susan (Terry) Shrewsbury; his nephews, Josh Snyder and Jerrad (Molly) Hopper and their children; and his niece Mikayla Snyder.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Snyder, Sr.; his step father, Lloyd Hasche; and his grandparents, John and Ethel Nixon, who welcomed him home in heaven.
Chuck’s family would like to thank everyone for the love, support, and prayers shown throughout his illness and during this difficult time.
