Charlene A. Edelman, age 75, of Huron died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2011 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with family present from 6-8 p.m. and prayer service at 6 p.m.; or one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Charlene Edelman was born March 14, 1936 to Joseph and Katherine (Wagner) Lucklum in Huron. She attended Huron schools before graduating from Huron High School in 1955. After graduation, Charlene moved to California. She married Walter Edelman on November 27, 1959 in California. The couple ran their own Catering Food Truck in many places throughout California. In 1973, Charlene and Walter returned to Huron. While in Huron, Charlene worked for Wilbrecht Electronics and Raven Industries, retiring in 2002. Charlene loved life. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, and traveling. She was a member of the Huron Senior Center, various card clubs, and Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Charlene is survived by her daughter; Pam (Mike) Mitchell of Henry, SD; two grandchildren, Shannon (Fritz) Harlow, Michael (Susi Wagner) Mitchell; four great grandchildren, Haven Olson, Andrew Martin, Ariana Martin, Damien Mitchell; brother, Albert (Jo) Lucklum of Huron; twin sister, Darlene (Don) Schnabel of Alta Loma, CA; sister, VaLois Jaurez of La Puente, CA; sisters-in-law, Catherine Lucklum of Huron, Norma Simons of IL, Betty Edelman of Huron; many nieces and nephews. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter in 1980; and brother, Gene.
