Chad Kahre, age 46, of Wolsey, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at his home in Wolsey. His funeral service will be on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wolsey, SD. Burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Huron will be at a later date. Visitation with the family present, will be from 5-7 PM on Thursday, January 30, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wolsey, with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 PM; or visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Chad Daniel Kahre was born on September 2, 1973 to Daniel and Paulette (Langbehn) Kahre in Huron, South Dakota. He grew up in Wolsey, attended school and graduated from Wolsey High School.

Chad married Kristie Graff on August 7, 1999 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wolsey. To this union, three sons were born, Jayden, Jacob, and Ethan. Chad worked for Bill Houck, Shallbetter, Huron Manufacturing and Titan Machinery, as well as being a full-time farmer.

Chad loved working on the farm and teaching his boys about farming. Many farmers requested Chad to work on their farm equipment. Hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling with his boys were a few of his favorite pastimes. He loved spending his time with his family, especially watching his boys play football and hockey. He was also an avid Minnesota Viking fan.

Chad was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Wolsey.

Chad was preceded in death by his mother, Paulette, his sister Melissa Sprecher, grandparents, Herbert and Elaine Kahre, and Ralph and Josephine Langbehn.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Kristie, his sons, Jayden, Jacob, and Ethan Kahre, of Wolsey; his father, Daniel of Wolsey, his brother Bret (Saren) Kahre of Wolsey; nieces Hilary (Dustin) Hunt, Taylor Sprecher, Cortney Sprecher, Kaitlyn Kahre, and nephew Clay Kahre; father-in-law, Richard Graff; sister-in-law, Valerie Berg; and brothers-in-law, Richard, Jr. (Lisa) Graff and Leslie (Leslie) Graff.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for Chad's sons' education funds.
