Cecil M. Janisch, age 77, of Lake Preston and formerly of Huron, died Sunday, September 26, 2004, at the Kingsbury Memorial Manor at Lake Preston, SD. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 29, at the Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Brandsrud officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call this Tuesday afternoon and evening or Wednesday until the time of service at the Welter Funeral Home. Cecil Janisch was born Cecil Marie Ward on April 10, 1927, to Tom and Wilma (Lorenz) Ward at Eau Claire, WI. She moved with her family as a child to Mondovi, WI, where she attended school. On December 31, 1941, Cecil married Forrest Owens at Huron and they farmed and lived in the Huron area. She was employed with West Park Fine Foods for several years. In 1975, she married Don Janisch and they lived in Sioux Falls until 1992 when Cecil became a resident of the Kingsbury Memorial Manor at Lake Preston where she lived until her death. She is survived by 5 daughters, Marlin (Erich) Saeger of Peterson, IA, Sheila Wurtz of Huron, Kay (Bob) Rensvold of Rapid City, Norma (Joe) Gilchrist of Huron, and Leila (Tim) Schwartz of Huron; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 step-children, Kenny, David, Cindy, James and Mark; 2 brothers, Glenn (Lillian) Ward of Cudahy, WI, and Floyd (Maggie) Ward of South Milwaukee, WI; 1 half-brother, Keith (Mary) Ward of Cushing, WI; 1 half-sister, Mary Margaret Davis of Eagan, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husbands.
